Transkrypcja nagrania SPEAKER 1 I must admit I can’t force myself to sit down and learn vocabulary or grammar rules by heart. That’s why I prefer chatting with people I know online. Surely, it’s almost never perfect English – all those people are also learners of English, but we talk about everyday situations, and if we can communicate with each other and make ourselves understood, we’re happy because that’s what matters the most. SPEAKER 2 I’m quite traditional, I must admit. Nobody has ever showed me any other way, so I’m the happiest when I have a list of words and plenty of exercises to practise the rules. I do every exercise vary carefully. Oh, and I do believe in the power of repetition – it’s the only way to develop your skills! SPEAKER 3 I like old methods but with a modern twist. You can find an app for anything these days so my mobile is full of tried-and-tested applications I can use to practise my language skills. My favourites are flashcards – I can use them almost everywhere and any time, for instance, when I’m waiting for a bus. I can even make my own sets of flashcards if I want! SPEAKER 4 Of course, learning at school is important – you get professional help, but nothing beats learning a language among native speakers of a language. Even if you are lazy, you simply have no other choice but to try to learn at least some useful words and phrases. And it’s normally easier to remember this way because you really need to say these words to communicate. It may look a bit chaotic, but usually whatever you learn this way, it sticks with you for a long time. SPEAKER 5 I’m a bookworm, so it’s easy for me to get an original version of a book I like and read it, and learn the language in this way. Even if I don’t understand something, I know the context will help me to get the ide a. Some words I look up in a dictionary. I’ve noticed I remember not just single words and phrases, but also entire sentences. I sometimes use them when talking to people. Speaker … A. prefers everyday situations and authentic environment.
