A diploma from a renowned universi- ty often guarantees success in life and a high position in society so every year more and more students decide to leave their own country and study far away from home . However, staying abroad for a few years is not a bed of roses and it does have certain draw- backs that youngsters tend to forget about. It is believed that studying at Harvard or Oxford University has a number of advantages. Firstly , staying at such a prestigious place turns out to be a fantastic cultural lesson. Secondly , you practice and improve foreign languages as this is not only the way to com- municate with people but also the way to acquire new knowledge. Moreover , you often meet interesting people like lecturers and other foreign students. However , studying far away from your hometown has some disadvantages as well. For instance, you miss your family and friends whom you see rather seldom because of the distance. An- other problem can be the price that you have to pay for your stud- ies and the accommodation.
